I could tell you I think you're wrong, and even why, but it wouldn't change a thing.
I will say this: If you want to go around in 100°+ HEAT all dressed up 'around your gun', that's your business.
Expecting others to, or denigrating them for not doing so, is pointless − And that's 'at best'.
