I've got two AMT 7" 45 ACP's right now that I've had since the late 70's and really like them. Also had a 7" 10mm for many years but a friend talked me out it last year. None ever gave me a problem until a couple of months ago. One of the barrels cracked on the right side of the chamber and finding a replacement is proving to be a real problem. Last one I saw for sale was $500 NIB, should have bought it.
