WAY OT, but this is the biggest nest of folks with know how
that I know. I need to replace the cover over the display on my #1 Appraisal tool a Leica Disto D5. It was an overloaded brief case casualty. Leica was less than no help. They do not stock parts or repair their laser measurers. They offered to sell me on at wholesale for $389. So much for one of the main reasons I ponied up for a Leica Laser in the first place instead of a Bosch or other brand.
So. It looks like the best readily available candidate for the plastic is a CD case. How is the best way to get a clean cut on that type of plastic.
