MCump told me a story once, and I hope I have it correct.

Guy he worked with, not an especially savvy outdoorsman, or marksman, stumbles into the middle of a bunch of feral pigs. He was mushrooming, maybe? The swine are displeased, and physically express this.

He has a Ruger Standard. Presumably 9+1.

In the next few seconds, he's fired 10 rounds, 5 piggies are dead or dying, and he's out of ammo. He carried no spare magazine.

The surviving pigs are discouraged, and break off the kerfuffle. He runs like Carl Lewis back to his vehicle, and gets the heck of Pigland.

Not a good story if you are a pig protecting your homeland from invasion, I suppose, but most humans would consider it a happy ending.
