It was my Dad.
He bought a new Single Six in 1963. Turned out to have a bad barrel from the factory. Ruger said they would replace it free of charge. He decided to rebarrel it himself. He had a Model 52 Winchester target barrel so he whacked off a piece and made a 6 1/2" barrel .. fitted it to the frame ... Taylor throated it .. rechambered one chamber in the cylinder to .22 Magnum ... lightened the hammer ... straightened the trigger .. made a super accurate sixgun out of it.
.22 Magnum chamber. Since you carry with the hammer down on an empty chamber this made perfect sense.
Speed hammer
Straightened trigger
