Call the local sheriff's office before you go...

They may let you lock them up there. The local sheriff's office has a wall of lockers in the lobby for CCW's to lock up their sidearm prior to entering the courthouse.

No muss, no fuss, no paperwork. Just show licence to carry to the deputy at the metal detector and lockup your piece and take the key until you are done with your business.

Tell the sheriff the truth about attending the graduation and desire to not break regs with a weapon on the Army Base. You might be surprised with the slack they cut you.

Also, here you can call the MP's office ahead of time and let them know you are coming, for what and when and will have a weapon in your car. They will keep it safe and sound for you until you are done.

Also, be aware that the policy for entering a base has changed the last year. Make sure that you have a pass to get through the gate. If you don't you can't.

Regardless, don't try to sneek it in. Its a bad bad thing to get caught.
