Charles, those are really beautiful stocks. Shooting Stars are some of my favorite custom stocks - you just have to remove all the oversized, ugly wood and crude checkering on the outside.....
I've got part of a bottle of Tru-Oil that's over 40 years old. I have to strain it through pantyhose each time before I use it, but it gives the most gorgeous golden finish to a piece of walnut that I have ever seen. I use it sparingly, and I guess I'll have to quit buying old beatup Herrets when it's finally gone.
