I like dark walnut, but
I didn't want to use a strain on these grips. I started with 10 hand rubbed coats of boiled linseed oil and then 15 coats of Tru-Oil for a hard high gloss finish.
The BLO darkened the wood considerably and the Tru-Oil has some slight color to it as well. Together they produced a color that shows off the grain. The pics are a pretty accurate representation of the color.
