Go to a pawn shop......
......where you will find a plethora, nay, a gazillion older pump field guns. Many will be old enough to NOT have interchangeable chokes, and thus inexpensive. Quite a few will be old enough to perhaps not have a vent rib. Pick one of this if possible. Buy a clean Remington/Mossberg/Winchester/High Standard/etc. Cut the barrel to something between 18 and 24", mount a new bead that is big and outrageously noticeable.
