I had that issue with some old Kynoch cases I got for my 450 BPE. They were berdan and I converted them to boxer. On the first firing, one of them split near the case head. This was with black powder so I know pressure wasn’t an issue. I have since acquired some new cases and will be using those for the most part. Funny thing, I was videoing me shooting the rifle and I’m pretty sure I saw the shot where it popped, s you could see some smoke blast from the breech area. I didn’t notice it upon firing or unloading but saw the cracked case after cleaning them.
