A bit of amusement…
A few posts down, Aaron B posted about he ended up with that HB mold. I have lightly experimented with the Webley so the design looked useful, in the least.
Fast forward a bit and he ends up with a batch of .250 Savage brass and we all ‘pushed him’ (it was just a nudge) into rooting out a rifle as, after all, I already had dies, right?
So, he and I worked out a deal as soon as I could dig the dies out of The Dungeon. I had one of my boys fetch the dies, box them up and prepare for mailing. Then all Hell broke loose and it rapidly moved onto a back burner.
In the meantime, Bro’ Dan heads to a gun show. Lo’ and behold, he stumbles into a ‘grail gun’ for me. Without any consultation, he lays out a princely $625 for, guess what? A Savage 99 in a .250-3000 ‘take-down’ version.
I was pretty close to ripping open Aaron’s package and telling him ‘too damned bad friend’ but it came with dies so I was set.
The entire play of events makes me smile though.
