So far, so good.
After washing some of my work clothes, both clothes and the washer drum appear to be clean of any residual grease, and the odor has dissipated (thank you fabric softener).
I was able to get the work clothes dried and folded and put away before she got home, so I may yet be in the clear. We'll see.
