.44 Mag Carbine loads for Lyman 429421
Hi all.
A friend of mine has a pretty Henry carbine in .44 Magnum. He shoots a lot of factory ammo, and he'll hunt whitetails with it this season.
I was thinking of putting up some .44 Mag loads for it using the Lyman 429421 Keith bullet, but I wanted to get y'all's opinion on what's the best load to get both accuracy and velocity out of this plain-base bullet in a Henry carbine.
I figure it'll be something involving 4227 or 2400 or some such magnum powder, but I don't know how hard I should drive it for ultimate accuracy at velocities suitable for hunting.
Any advice you might have would be appreciated.
Thanks,
-AaronB
