used to these days from modern rifle velocities. They work more like the old BP cartridges.

Impact Sound: again, you are correct. The slap is really apparent shooting subs, far more detailed than the kugelschlag you can sometimes hear unsuppressed. In fact, when hunting squirrels with a suppressed subsonic 22 it is easy to tell from the difference in impact sound where the bullet landed... ie, a sullen 'thump' is a gut hit, a more solid 'whack' means ribs, and a wooded 'whock' is a skull hit.
