With the advent of the SSK-50 (long ramble)

Like Hoot until late, I have so far avoided Contenders. Mainly because I know my self and know I would want several calibers and to get the most out of the they would need scopes as well and I am just too cheap to drop that kind of coin!

That being said, how much does shooting shorter cases affect accuracy? I’m just wondering if something like a 357 maximum would give you a great amount of versatility. No problem on deer and maybe even slightly bigger critters with the right deep penetrating bullet in the max. Magnum would also work on deer (it has for me a few times here in Indiana) and 38 special could be used of roll king, practice and small game. I will say that suppressed 38 specials out of a lever gun are one of the funnest things I’ve ever shot!
