The old 220 was a shooter and probably capable of much better from a Ransom Rest.

I look at it like this... the SMC, Super etc basically give you a dual-purpose 45 Auto. The Doubletap 450 SMC sails a 255 SWC out at 1000 fps or a little better. This basically gives you warm, standard pressure 45 Colt ballistics from your 45 Auto. That load will knock a 3/4" hole through about 25 inches of wet newsprint. If I needed more, I'd go to 325's in the 45 Colt.
