I have read multiple accounts of WC's destabilizing after...
50yds or so. Although, I have not shot them much past half that distance. DEWC's can be loaded, within reason, to a number of different levels. HBWC's, on the other hand need to be kept in the 7-800fps range lest you separate the body from the 'skirt'...which would do bad things to your barrel. I should think the classic '2.7gr Bullseye/148gr WC (either design)' should be great fun out of a shoulder mounted arm. Easy on the powder, brass and shoulder but still considerably more 'whack-em' than, say, a .22LR.
