Back into the AR world

I had been pretty heavy into AR-15s at one time, built upwards of a dozen of them and had some very nice rifles and optics. We were facing a move when the last buying frenzy started and I sold out, of ARs anyway, sold every AR I had and every bit of 5.56 ammo. Made a tidy sum off it and figured I'd never get back into it.

Well... Let's just say I jumped back in. I decided I wanted to do a .308 AR-10, and started researching them. I had had an Armalite AR-10 before so I knew some of the differences, but suffice it to say that the "AR-10" world is a lot different. Different receivers, magazines, barrels and bolts, handguards, it can be very confusing. It stems from the fact that there is no "mil spec" for the AR-10 like there is for the AR-15/M-16. So I decided to but a complete rifle instead of building one. I ended up ordering a Palmetto complete lower and complete upper, the total is right at $900 plus shipping and transfer fee. Everything should be here the middle of next week.

I also realized that there is a glut of AR-15 stuff on the market and jumped back into that racket too. CDNN has some great deals right now and I ordered a Colt CSR complete rifle and a Black Rain billet complete lower. If nothing else these will be good investments for the next buying frenzy.
