I havn't been a real fan of lights or laser onguns for EDC

I like lasers on the small pocket guns, since most of them have pretty useless sights to begin with. On bigger guns, I can take them or leave them.

As far as a light, I'm pretty adamant that you should have one if at all possible. Target identification is a priority, especially in the house. If you have others living with you, being able to identify who is about to get shot before you shoot them is huge. I'd much rather take a bullet than shoot one of my family members.

Gun mounted lights are important, since there's really no effective way to run a long gun without one, and I have yet to meet the person who can shoot better with one hand on the handgun than two. I tend to run a handheld and a handgun mounted light, so I'm not pointing the muzzle at everything I shine the light on. If one goes out, I still have the other. If I see something fishy, I can put both hands on the handgun and be more a more effective shooter. I run my Glocks with a Surefire X300 weaponlight all the time, even for carry.
