My uncle was a deputy sheriff back in the day. One day he was at the county farm and they wanted him to shoot one of the pigs for meat for the workhouse prisoners. Uncle Jack bonked a big shoat between the eyes with a .38 Special 200 grain RNL "Super Police" load. That big ol' slow bullet just glanced off the pig's skull and made him REAL mad. IIRC, one of the trustys, a big black fellow, finally had to run the pig down, sit on it, and cut its throat with a butcher knife.
