Did a function test of my LCP

First shot fired. Second shot jammed. Fixed jam. Next shot fired. Next shot jammed. Fixed jam so on and so forth. The last shot fired LOL after I put it back in the chamber. Second mag of ball all fired ok

I was flabbergasted. The casings had crud consisting of lint turned into dirt. The gun was dry and gritty. The load was a mix of 102 grain Golden Saber and ball

After I cleaned it all up including both magazines I ran three more mags of ball and ball is all I have in the mags now. Need to try HP's again before I trust them.

Lesson learned. Nothing wrong with the gun. All me and my maintenance. First auto I ever packed in a pocket regularly. Keep the gun, ammo and magazines free of pocket lint and dung. Cycle out the ammo in the magazines. It is unbelievable how much stuff sticks to these guns/clips when in a pocket.

I'd carry my 442 but that dang little LCP fits so good in a pocket. But I'm leaning back to the Smith and the LCP for backup when needed

Check your LCP guys.

Bob
