You're right about that Otony...
I have an 1894P in .44 magnum. I bought it new about ten or twelve years ago and paid $329 for it(lot of money for someone like me). Guy walks up to me at the range the other week and offers me $600 for it! I told him he was crazy, he said they only made them for a couple years, and that given it's condition, I could probably get more! I still don't believe him. Having said all this, I wish I would have bought the equivalent rifle in .357 caliber. If this guy was right, they're probably priced way out of my range now.
