Try the CCI .22 "Quiet" ammo. It functions in my Rem

241. I think it is because it has a 40 gr. bullet even though it moves it at the same velocity as the CB Longs with the 20 gr. bullet. I think it is quieter too. A HOOT to shoot in my 241.
