Bummer news for me

Hard news to take Lee.
Prayers are up for you and a successful resolve to you condition.

Prayers also for the rest of us prewar folks. Like a good prewar S&W, we were quality made with much attention to detail during the construction phase. Most of us were used hard the first sixty or so years then usage tapered off. That is when we discovered that our timing was a little off, end shake occurred, throat erosion and bore pits begin showing up. Rust pitting was forming under our butt stocks and in other tight places. Bore constriction so bad that a .22 would not go through a .45 bore even when powered by an extremely high pressure, while at other times the .22 would just dribble out into our holsters with no notice or effort from us. We also find that even with very limited use we can only shoot blanks.

Our consolation is there are good smiths to help bring old prewars back to a better condition, and good doctors that can do wonders with old bodies.

Again Prayers are up for you and your Doctor.
