his self-revelation to be not uncommon and a big part of the reason some of the advanced programs are so tough. They want to break down the self-interest of the candidates, or weed those out just in it for themselves. Those who are in it for reasons greater than themselves will predominate the graduate ranks and will be more reliable in action. Good on him for coming this far and will send prayers for his succesful completion of the program.
