Alabama Tick Carcass

John Killebrew posted a photo of an Alabama Tick carcass he found in the woods. When the baby ticks hatch they eat their Mama. I guess this was a young mother tick since it's kinda small.

Probably one that got caught out in the open and the yellow flies and mosquitos got it.

Could be, especially this time of year.

Another possibility; if that tick laid down for a nap, it is possible dirt dobbers plugged up her nose holes and she never woke up.

Years ago when I was stationed at Ft. Eustis VA, one of the local mosquitos landed on the parking apron at the Army airfield one night and a Spec 4 mechanic put thirty gallons of avgas in it before he realized it wasn't a helicopter........
