Never was a hater myself - haven't been without a selection

I came of age using the M1 Garand in the Army, then was issued the M-14, great rifles of which I have appropriate ones. I grew up with Springfield's in 03 and 03A3 configurations. I never warmed to the M-16 when they came out and put the idea in the back of my mind. Eventually I did get a Colt H-Bar target and it is a great shooter, only weighs in at 10 pounds or so. Finally got into handling the M-4 civilian version and found they were great shooters. Still learning, nothing like the earlier rifles and simple as well. I can see why these are gaining in popularity. Light weight, low recoil, etc. I have had M1 Carbines both for duty use and plinking, but could never warm up to them. Ammo availability back then was a sometime thing. They were cleaned and put up. Just saying I do like the current offerings and like has been said, you can do endless things with them and to them.
