A while back while at my local Wal-Mart, I found they had e different makes on the AR-15 set up, actually the M-4. I was able to handle and fondle them and really liked the Sig-Sauer M-400 enhance version out of the three. They were a Colt and DPMS as well. I bought the Sig-Sauer then and there. Felt great and had a Mag-Pul forend, Buttstock, 16 inche barrel, flat top receiver, no carrying handle, came with a really nice soft carrying case with shoulder straps and extra storage compartments. Found the case sells normally $95.00 which was included. Also one Mag-Pul 30 Round magazine. 917 plus tax out the door. I liked the way it threw up to my shoulder, weighs in around 6 and 1/2 pounds. Adjustable stock with the ability to add a sling in several configurations, also a nice feature on the Sig was two spots at the rear of the receiver allow the use of quick disconnet swivels for mounting a single point sling, or you can put a two point sling using the forend position. Do I like it,yes big time. I really like the Mag-Pul furniture. Flip up rear sight, standard AR-15 front sight. used a riser block to mount a scope. Great trigger about 6 pounds, break nicely. There was a write up in the American Rifleman about this model, but it had a more conventional forend (tubular) which I didn't care for. If you get a chance check out Sig's website. May help you figure what you would like to have such a model you are wanting to build. Take care.
