Super Redhawk or Std Redhawk

I think this is the year that I'll finally have time to work on the long range revolver project that I keep putting off. I've toyed with the revolver options, and am torn between using a std 7-1/2 in Redhawk, and a 7-1/2 in. Super Redhawk for the project. I shoot DA revolvers much better than SAs, and appreciate Rugers interchangable sights. The Super Red has a much more "tuneable" trigger in my experience, but I've always experienced better accuracy (at least out of the box) with std Redhawks. The caliber will be 44 magnum, and I'll have Veral cut me whichever mould he thinks best for my application. I'd value your opinions on this. Revolvers are getting really expensive, along with everything else.

I agree, Rob. They seem to be about the same price here. They can be found in the 600 dollar range, but those stay for sale longer.

Don't know about the Super Redhawk but my regular

Redhawks in 44 and 45 are very accurate for me and I find the DA pull is good, at lest for me. The 45 Colt was tuned by Andy Horvath, the 44 was an early gun and did not need tuning. 400.00 for a used 44 Redhawk would be a good price around here.

Everything I'm finding in my area is running about $500.00/used. I probably should mention that I can't find much around here, one dealer told me that Ruger is out of stock on Redhawks, and won't produce any more until after the first of the year. Some Supers are available, but are priced plenty high too.

anybody want to sell a 44 Redhawk?

The auction sites are nuts! Many used guns are priced higher than new ones. I'd happily take a std or Super Redhawk in 44 mag if the price is right.
