Reminds me of the 80's...

when I spent some time working in the agricultural industry to help pay for college and other expenses. All the old farm equipment companies were either buying each other out or being bought out. It made for strange bedfellows and it wasn't too long before well known names disappeared, or were incorporated somehow into some other name.

And that last makes me think that JimT's onto something... "Get out of here before I unleash my Savage Smith and Wesson!" has a certain ring to it.
