If you get the chance watch the Vikings... And watch the extras available on DVD with it. Besides being a versatile actor, I don't recall ever having heard his view on politics... an example the rest of Hollywood should follow.

He was one of my favorites as well - he showed a lot of range beyond his tough guy and comedic/straight man sides.

"Marty" was a jaw dropper for me, considering I only knew him from the Wildbunch, The Dirty Dozen, Bad Day at Black Rock, etc etc, and of course for his TV work.

My kids know him as Mermaid Man from Spongebob.

I had the distinct pleasure of meeting him one day when he accompanied his wife Tova into our editing company to work on video materials for her line of cosmetics. He was humble, courteous, gracious, and hilarious, all at once. He tolerated all my questions about Ben Johnson and Warren Oates as if he were my kindly uncle.

He was one of our favorite actors, and I am sorry to read this sad news. What a man!

I saw a interview with Mr Borngine last week on Bill OReilly and he came off as great
Spokesman and Role Model for Hollywood actors. At 95 he was very engaging and open. I liked the interview so well I stayed up to watch the repeat show. Just the thought of him being gone leaves a empty place in the world.
Prayers for his family.
