actually on the early morning hours of december 26, my gggggrandfather, Casper Goebel, was captured by George Washingtons troops , when they crossed the Delaware and attacked the Hessian garrison. Casper is number 37 on the prisoner list.

Casper was interned at Lancaster pennsylvania. after 6 months or so, he joined the american army as a blue coat and fought until the end of the war. in 1799 he anglicized the name Goebel to Cable.
