I snot a bunch of HBWC’s that were swaged by a local company long since gone, Star Bullets. They were on the northwest side of town and they would sell lead wire that they used for swaging. It was fairly soft but was a pretty cheap and reliable source of metal. They always had a shelving unit full of ‘seconds’ bullets and I bought a lot of them. Swaged 38 wadcutters, , 200gr .45 acp SWC’s and 158gr JHP’s. Little boxes of 500 for about half of what you found at midway.

To shoot pretty good for me. They are coated in mica, I think. Kind of white powder.

I have a box of those .44’s too. I remember hearing they really came apart at full .44 magnum speeds. I assume they are a pretty soft core and a lot of it exposed would open pretty well. Sounds like a dandy close range coyote round!
