Monte Walsh

Monte Walsh .. the book ... is a lot better than the movies made from it. The movies only cover a few chapters in the book. The book takes Monte Walsh's life from a young boy to his passing when he was old. It has great depictions of ranch life as well as being a great story overall.

Both films made from it .. the first in 1970 starring Lee Marvin and the second starring Tom Selleck in 2003.

There is a point in the story when Monte rides a crazy gray horse that no one had been able to ride. The Lee Marvin version is THE BEST by far of not only both films, but other films that show riding wild horses.

I suggest reading the book and then watching both!

:-P

I liked Selleck's version of Monte Walsh best but ....

his bucking scene did not measure up to Lee Marvin's.
