What would be a fair price for a S & W Model 14-3? .38SPL, 6", blue. slight holster wear at the muzzle, blue box.

so who knows. to me 350 is what a K frame 38 with adjusto sights is worth.

Under $425 is a good deal here. At Rob's price, I'd fumble

for my wallet. At $500, I'd keep walking. I like the older K38 more than the later guns.
S & W Price Check

Around the West End of Lake Erie, blued S&W's, pre-safety appears to be priced by blind faith and wishful thinking. 500.00 appears to be a 'moderate' gun counter asking price, anymore. One similar to your description was at Gander Mountain for less than a month. Another one resides in a local shop's display case at 550.00. Guess that pricing is nothing new to those of you who keep up with the market.
Another one of life's great bargains, mid-century Marlin levers, seems to have been on a similar rise over the past few years. Haven't really needed one, but was handling a nice undrilled .32 Spec 336A at 500.00 -- thinking, "Jeez, I usta pass these by at under 200.00 bucks every gun show."
Then I realized that wasn't exactly yesterday, neither.
