I took the Star BM to the Range with the loads that I had assembled using Winchester brass, 3.4 gr. of Bullseye (weighed each charge) and the Lee 356-120 bullet sized .356". One box of ammo was in cases .745" in length and the bullets were weighed. The other box was with cases .750" length .. powder and bullets the same as the first. The last box was with random length cases and random bullets and the powder just thrown from the RCBS powder measure.

Shooting at 20 yards using the Outers Pistol Perch to steady the gun I shot targets with each group of ammo and amazing to me, could tell no practical difference in accuracy between any of the loads.

One of the last targets I shot was with the random loads and it mirrors the target shot with the weighed ones.

So I am gonna load a bunch of ammo with the 3.4 gr. Bullseye load and have fun!

Jim, what kind of velocity does that load give you?

My go-to practice/utility load in 9mm is a 120 grain cast TC over 3.8 grains of Bullseye. I developed it for my old LW Commander to be gentle on the soft feed ramp, and later found that my Star BMs loved it too. Feeds in anything I have tried it in, but I don't recall that I've ever checked the velocity.

Thanks,
Catoosa

I have never checked. It works and I am happy with it. (nt)
