crop-dusting chopper with a useless torpedo had to be fueled every two hours. I manned the foam cannon on the smash & crash team. That and six on six off watch rotation made Ray a dull boy.

Haven't slept more than 3 1/2 hours uninterrupted in the intervening years. I hear the boatswain whistle then "flight quarters, flight quarters flight quarters ! No unauthorized hands topside aft of boat decks. The smoking lamp is out topside. Commence FOD walk-down. Flight quarters, flight quarters !"

Then I get up and pee and then try to go back to sleep.
