Compact scopes.......

Welcome to my world :-(

As I get older red dot sights work less and less for me, for close in, general plinking I can get by but beyond that I need and prefer a 1-4x or so, light weight scope, hard to find these days.

Everybody offers 30 or 34mm tube with big tactical turrets, so few decent 1 inch body scopes. Last year when I was putting together my 300 Blackout I chose the Leupold VX3 HD 1.5-5x, 1 inch tube, not too long and light weight. I really like the CDS locking turret, very positive and repeatable. I got lucky and bought mind on a blem sale thru Midway for $399, though I can't find a issues with it.

I keep checking the used scope web sites for the older 1-4x Weaver, Burris and Leupold scopes, I guess the people who have them don't want to give them up, smart move.
