Texas Longhorn Arms - some of the nicest sixguns
Bill Grover's sixguns were some of the nicest ever built. And as others have said, he never really ever received recognition for it while he was alive. I got to know Bill a little through The Shootists and we communicated and shared quite a lot. He sent me one of his West Texas Flattop Target Models in .45 Colt. I shot it a lot, hunted with it and wrote it up for several publications. When I got that done I asked him how he wanted me to ship it back to him and he wrote: "If you are still here after the Lord returns we can talk about it then." and told me to keep it.
This is the gun. I sold it to Boge Quinn when we were making preparations to move to Africa. The photos here are Gunblast's/Boge's.
Note the screws for the hammer, trigger and cylinder bolt.
They are "blind" screws in that they do not come through the frame. Bill did a lot of little things like that to the guns he built.

I believe this was the last West Texas Flattop Target Model he built.
