What is your FAVORITE gun?

by JimT, Texas, Thursday, May 04, 2023, 13:36 (504 days ago)

It may be one you no longer own, or you wish to own. My favorite seems to change from time to time. I finally concluded that all are a favorite, especially the one I am holding at the time. :-)

THOUGH ... one that I used but did not own and wished I did was the Browning M2 .50 caliber machinegun. That was an amazing piece of equipment!

What is your FAVORITE gun?

by Randy K., Thursday, May 04, 2023, 15:03 (504 days ago) @ JimT

Gotta agree on the M2 Jim. If it was narrowed down for me, it would be the one with the most memories. That would be a Perazzi MX8. It has excelled on the trap range, and pigeon ring. It has killed Geese in 3 states, Pheasants in 2, Ducks on the Mississippi, and quail in TN. I guess it has to be my favorite.

What is your FAVORITE gun? What time is it? nm

What is your FAVORITE gun?

by Fivegunner @, LOWELL Mi., Thursday, May 04, 2023, 19:36 (504 days ago) @ JimT

I have alot of firearms I should start to downsize soon. but my pick is Ruger Singel six stainless steel 6.5 in barrel. I have two of them, they (shoot better than I can hold) both were made in the 70`s They are so much fun . I also have a blued 4 -3/4 in that`s a close second ,and a 1959 3 screw it`s got some ware on it and it only has the .22LR cylinder.

My CZ457 "Scout"

It's "just" a .22LR bolt action, but it is as close to perfect as you can get right out of the box. More accurate than I can shoot it, trigger needed zero adjustment from factory. Light. Handles fast. I've got a Sig Romeo 5 optic on it, and this coupled with the light fast handling, it's lightning when I need it to be.

Little difference in POI from point blank to 50 yds whether it's suppressed or not. Oh, and it likes CCI standard velocity, which is not hard to find.

It'd be a toss-up between...

My old Ballard rifled Marlin 336 Texan in 35 Remington and my old Sears/AyA 433 SxS 12 gauge.

Lots of variables!

Like you said; it changes from time to time. I have a few guns that I would never get rid of, but they aren’t the most shot or the most practical. My wife got me my ‘Skeeter gun’ a 7.5” 32/20 SAA USFA from Turnbull that I can’t imagine ever letting go of. Also my chopped down Model 8 Remington in .35 cal is one that is dear to my heart.
My local range is pistol and pistol caliber only so that has affected what I shoot the most. I’ve only had it out once or twice but I am seriously in love with shooting my rough old Marlin 39A .22.
I lusted after a .45 Colt mountain gun for years and now have one and really like shooting it as well.
I just realized I haven’t been to the range since I bought my hot rod Model A. I need to change that soon!

I'm a sucker for older 'pre-lawyer' S&W revolvers and Colt Government Models, but I usually carry some version of a Glock these days.
