Bob, I suspect your gun, like mine, has the front sight pressed into a slot in the barrel. I found a piece of scrap banding was an exact fit in the slot. I cut a piece and filed it to shape and pressed it with a vise and some wood blocks, then filed it to the proper height. It's still in there and works fine, but of course mine is a .22.
