I like that, a lot! I keep my eye out for one of those $100 Marlin 336's to play with, but they are few and far between anymore. The older I get the more I appreciate the assistance of glass sighting systems, and that gives the Marlin a big edge over the Winchester. In the meantime, Grandpa's old '94 Winchester keeps the 30 WCF slot well filled in the battery.
