We have a Daisy Red Ryder leveraction BB gun. The Model 25 shoots a bit harder but runs out of ammo MUCH more rapidly than the Red Ryder. I have been having fun with the grandkids shooting BB guns. They both are getting to be decent shots.

The Model 25 was introduced around 1913 and is pretty well the same gun made today. I had one when I was younger and the only difference I find with this one is (1) a plastic trigger (2) a safety and (3) "Made in China" stamped on it.

Daisy is still in Arkansas .. they just contract out production apparently. But .. it is a good shooter.

If you are ever in Rogers, Arkansas

Go to the Daisy Museum. Well worth the time.

THANKS! I will keep that in mind.

Just don't shoot at no brickbats with it. (See my post below - that's the same model that almost got me a starring role in the prequel to "A Christmas Story").

I second Brien's motion...

we stopped there a couple years back, quite an interesting place for those of us who have history with Daisy. :-)

Sure wish we could get those down here, but such is life. Plinking around with a BB gun is one of the great small pleasures of life.

Shot a big black bear out the kitchen window with mine

a year or so ago. It was visiting the deer's corn. I didn't mind it getting a snack but thought I would encourage it to not stay around. First shot he took off like a greyhound. Stopped at about 40 yards. I lobbed another BB deep into his vitals, but it only penetrated th hair. He didn't stay around.

Put a little anti-seize on the large threads of the loading tube. Mine sort of galled and was seized up and after a while I had to use channel locks to unscrew the mag tube. Also drill out the peep hole some.

I remember when we were kids the ones who had the Daisy pump were better shots for some reason than us with Red-Ryders.

I was hoping it was going to be a cork shooter.

The kiddos would like that.
