ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE?

We talking traditional slow Zombies, or WWZ style speedy Zombies?:-D The same thing I had ready for Y2K, AR, 12ga., FA .454. However, I just acquired a Super Redhawk in .480 Ruger, that may show promise, when bugs land and start eating people.

I like the 480 idea ... I am setting aside the 480 Achilles!

Zombies coming.........

308 Savage FP10 long range rifle to get'em at the end of the road.

416 Ruger Alaskan if they mass up at shorter range, 400 gr SP's will deal with that easily.

Last line of defense is a AR15 M4 with RD and open sights and 30rd MagPul mags backed up with good ole trusty 5 inch 1911A1 45acp with 230 gr JHP.

Any points for style?

by JohnKDM, Saturday, September 17, 2022, 13:58 (798 days ago) @ JimT

If not, at least it will be entertaining to see how many catch on fire from 143grs of black before switching to a belt fed.

I would give you all kinds of points if you let me watch.

If all I have to do is hunt for food all by my lonesome I'm good for quite a while with variety to entertain. Otherwise if alone...

We are blessed with no Zombies here. Our expected future threat would be, UFO passengers, Big Foot, Stray African game after natural disasters, black helicopters, and still wet southerners. Once the "deficit reduction act" money gets to the stage where they give out the grant money, I expect the environmentalist to start cloning mastodons. The good news is at least we will have "antler shed" ivory to use for grips again. For all these possible threats, I plan on using the same everyday carry tools I now use in 44 caliber. These range from 44 Russian to 444 Marlin.

I'm kind of wondering why nobody carries a 10-22 and a few bricks of .22 lr ammo while responding to the zombies. It seems like it would work if you got a little cover and popped them in the head.

Personally, I will take my 94-22 Magnum.

But you have enough body mass to handle the recoil of the magnum.

In truth I sold that AK about five years ago, and that shotgun barely breaks open enough to sneak shells in it, so it would be an awful choice.
