I am about halfway through this book and am enjoying it! Mic starts by telling the story of Billy Dixon and famous shot at Adobe Walls, then tells the story of how they came to set up a range to replicate the shot.

He also shares some great hunting stories of his family and his own experiences. There are chapters on the long-range rifle and what has been accomplished.

I am not a long-range rifle shooter but I appreciate all the work that is included in this book detailing much of what goes into an accurate long-range rifle.

Speaking of Billy Dixon, I found a link to the Texas Library where a person with internet connection can read Billy's biography. Here is the link that I use. From reading this I also found other books to read.

In the Bosom of the Comanches: A Thrilling Tale of Savage Indian Life, Massacre and Captivity Truthfully Told by a Surviving Captive

I have read it and found it most interesting along with other literature that is readily available in the Library.
