Here's what I do...

I post only from my laptop or desktop. I have no idea how a phone might work.

Just to the right of this box where I'm typing is a series of buttons. The eighth one down is "upload" which opens a dialog box. One of the options is, "Browse" and you would then navigate to the folder in which your picture is located, Select the picture and (I think) "Open" to upload it to the posting box where this is all being typed.

Pretty sure that's all. Holler if you have issues and I'll try to help.

Hoot's got it for a PC upload. To break it down into steps, here you go:

1. Open a new topic or reply to one (like I'm doing now)
2. Click on the "upload" icon on the right side of the screen.
3. Click on "Choose file" and navigate to where you've got the image you want to share.
4. Click on "Upload" and wait for the confirmation that it was successful.

The system automatically inserts the appropriate text for the image to show up. It also automatically resizes some images to fit the system better. Here's one that I purposely chose due to its oversize nature in the original. Upon uploading it the popup window tells me the new resolution and file size.

Now that I mention that - you'll need to allow popups for this site. We DO NOT use popups for adds and such so it's perfectly safe to allow them here as they only show up when you're uploading an image.

if possible, it'd be good to resize pictures first to a smaller size prior to uploading. I've found a 1,000 pixel or maybe up to 1,500 pixel image on the longest side to be adequate for most forum use. Here's the same image as above, but resized prior to 1000 pixels on the longest side prior to uploading. This is half of the size on the image above. Note that this image was resized by the system, but only on the file size. The image pixels remain the same, unlike the one above which resized not only the pixels but also the file size.
