You may want to check out the website, "Box of Truth" they do a lot of testing on different venues. They did a write up on steel cased Russian ammunition, in a few different calibers. It seems the only caution if you shoot a lot of the coated stuff, you may have to clean the chamber before using brass cases. The coated cases do tend to leave a residue in the chamber which may cause extraction problems in some calibers. As for power and so it is was pretty good ammo. The "Wolf" stuff was originally coated with a something like varnish or similar stuff, the polymern coats are a bit less problem. If I cannot get brass cased carbine ammo I would use the steel cased stuff. ATB

I have a small supply of Remington jsp and Winchester hp ammo. Georgia Arms sells what looks like a pretty good hollowpoint but I haven't had the chance to test any of my stash yet.
