In an July 2020 article in Guns Magazine, the author referenced a load of 9.0 grains of 2400 behind a 100 grain Keith style cast bullet but recommended against it in a Charter Arms revolver. What would your recommendation be concerning using this load in a Ruger SP101?
Thanks.

I suspect that the SP101 can handle any sane .32 H&R

load, it is chambered for the .327 Federal and .357 Magnum. However, I must have missed something, I don't remember any 2400 load for the .32 H&R...

There have been 2400 loads published as far back as Skeeter Skelton's articles. I still have the magazine in which they appeared. Ross Seyfried also did two articles on the cartridge with 2400 loads and I have them as well. The article to which I referred in my original posting was quite recent. I've used 2400 for years in both my Ruger Bisley small frame and a (now sold) Browning Lo-Wall I had rebored from .22 Hornet.
When I say I don't remember, that is exactly what I mean!

Thanks for the link. Use of 2400 might be the way to go in future given powder availability.

.32 H&R Reload Question
by Bob Hatfield , Sunday, January 31, 2021, 03:57 (1392 days ago) @ Remington40x
For what it is worth. I have a H&R 732 with a 4 inch barrel in 32 Long. I did not have luck with fast burning pistol powders like Bullseye and 231 when using them with a 94 grain cast SWC. I tried 7 grains of 2400 and it was like night and day in the accuracy department. For some reason my fliers disappeared. It is not a load out of a book. I sort of extrapolated and guessed and hoped for the best.
Bob
I have used more 2400 than that in Single Sixes.

The Sp101 is stronger still so you won’t have any problems.
