Contradiction of some kind????

Lets get a little conversation started and try to liven' up the board.......

By far my favorite handgun is a Les Baer 1911A1 in 45 acp, but my favorite caliber is the 41 Magnum, I know I know but I like it : ), I shoot a 6.5" Blackhawk more accurately in general shooting. On a good day bench shooting my Freedom Arms is WAY more accurate but I am talking in general shooting terms here.

Contradiction!!!!

Shouldn't I shoot the Baer more accurately since it is my favorite handgun and I used a 1911A1 of one brand or another for over 23 years in competition, at least 5 times the round count verse a 41 Magnum but I don't, just something about that Blackhawk that I can hit so easy with, shot it out to 293 yards with open sights and made hits on a steel target. Experience points to the Baer but facts point to the Blackhawk.

Do you have a contradiction in your shooting???????

with Blackhawks...they just worked for me.

Favorite serious handgun is my stainless Colt Govt Model.

Most carried gun is a G43, though. It goes EVERYwhere. There must be a contradiction in there, somewhere.

What I have noticed over the years. You have your 1911 on your hip and you know how to shoot. Your friend shows with his brand new custom 1911 and lets you shoot it. You shoot a target that you don't think your gun can do. Your gun can do it but what you are experiencing is a break down of fundamentals and complacency. When a new gun hits your hand you pay more attention and do better than normal because your brain did a factory reset and you went back to the proper fundamentals of shooting. This is a very slight change but that level gives greater results. J.Michael

Good answer, I've experienced that.

Agree.

I feel obligated to give each new to me arm a good sound effort on my part. Doubly so if it's a less experienced person hoping to see how his new pride and joy might perform after some learning curve.
