about the .22 Magnum, did Ruger ever make the Model 39 lever action in .22 magnum?
Probably mean Marlin instead of Ruger

I do not believe there was ever a M39 in .22 Mag as it is not strong enougth but Marlin did make a .22 Mag on the 94 frame.
I understand that they are coveted..

Yes, I certainly did mean Marlin. That's what comes of typing about one thing while thinking of something else.
I was pretty sure that was the answer I'd get. I think Henry does make a .22 magnum. I just like Marlins. I have an old Mountie that I've had since I was a kid (REAL antique!). I love the thing, just wish it had a bit more punch.
Thanks, Byron.
More punch....

.22 Mag rifles have lots more power than .22 LRs....

There are some areas that are rimfire only

And it'd be a definite improvement. My former father in law ran a trap line somewhere that only allowed rimfire and he saw a fair amount of coyotes. He was on the lookout for a Marlin several years ago but they were scarce even then.
Lever action .22 Mags...

Marlin made the 94 in 22 Mag. Byron is right, coveted by some. About $600-800 around here depending on the day BUT you very seldom see one. Ruger made the 96 in .22 Mag. Neat gun. Yes, Henry makes the .22 Mag and Winchester had the 9422M, also coveted. I think that Marlin also made the 57 or 62 in .22 Mag. I'm sure I have the model number wrong on that one.

i have a uberti 1873 SRC in 22 magnum and it is a beauty but heavy.,....have a tang sight on it and its accuracy is stellar as well
i DO like that cartridge.
